365 Photo Project- March

Now on to the daily pictures from March......

If you want to know about my 365 photo project read HERE....

My first baby boy turned 4!  I don't even know where the time went!  Seriously!  I remember very clearly the moment I first held him in my arms.....the moment that changed my life forever.....the moment my life began!  I feel so blessed that I get to be his mother......that I get to watch him grow and become this little boy who speaks his own mind and starts making his own paths.  As I continue to learn along the road of motherhood, there is one thing I am certain that I know.....to hold them close and love them like you have never loved anything before.  You don't want to miss a beat, as the years are short.  Happy Birthday to my sweet, magical, witty, silly, curious, colorful, imaginative, sunshine of a little boy!  Thank you for being you!

We had an art party for him the day before his actual birthday.  His friends and he created some amazing pieces of art and enjoyed each other in play and silliness.  My dearest Aunt made an awesome rainbow cake! I will dedicate a whole post to just his party to share more pictures!

I want to write a whole post on cooking and feeding our precious babies.  It can be such a controversial subject in the world of parenthood that I have feared to write about it.  BUT I am very passionate about cooking and especially for my littles!  So I think I am going to write about what works for us as a family and how we introduced solids to our babies.  Stay tuned!

One of my favorite joys in this world is to see my husband with my babies.  He is such a good father and my boys are completely in love with him.  Watching him with our boys has kept me falling in love with him over and over again!

The boys and I did a little St. Patrick's Day baking with my Aunt!  Her sugar cookies are famous in our family!  We finished our day with some potato stamping.  I cut a potato in half, carved out a heart, and we formed a clover with the stamp.  It was a fun for Ayden to see that we can paint with food too!

For the love of bath time and brother time!

My little one has quite an obsession with the dishwasher.  The second that door opens he speed crawls into the kitchen to be able to play with all the little treasures that a dishwasher holds.....utensils, cups, puddles of water, rolling racks, and a door that opens & shuts.  He LOVES it!  I think it is quite adorable.  Hopefully one day he will enjoy helping mama load it!

This day in March was a big day for Asher.  We had a play date with some friends and he stood up all by himself without holding onto anything.  Just stood there balancing.  Then we came home and he took some steps with the help of this chair.  He scooted this chair all the way across the room.  I was a proud mama with a few tears.  Stop growing so fast my child!

Both of my boys absolutely LOVE music.  They love to play music, listen to music, dance to music, sing to music, and even sleep to music.  Music is a huge part of our family life.  Since daddy's favorite instrument to play is the djambe drum, then, of course, it is their favorite too.  And I love to listen to them drum!

Dying eggs with natural dyes that we got from vegetables and spices.  My favorite way to dye eggs!

Stay tuned for April's photos!

Rhubarb & Menus

I have never been a rhubarb eater.  And to be honest, I don't know why!  I like it, I like the taste, I LOVE strawberry rhubarb pie.  So I'm not sure why I turn away from it so often.  I was buying strawberries at the farmers market last week and I looked over and saw this huge pile of rhubard.  I thought to myself, "why not", grabbed a bunch and headed home.  Now.....what the heck do I make with these!  I wanted to try something different then the typical rhubarb strawberry pie, crumble, or jelly.  So, I went to one of my all time favorite food blogs, 101 Cookbooks and found this......Rhubarb & Rosewater Syrup!  I can't even wait to try this out this week.  I will most definitely be taking pictures and blogging about my experience making this!  Stay tuned!

We are entering the season of amazingly fresh food everywhere!  I am in love!
